It has been the wildest ride of my life to train with Nike as part of Project Moonshot, a program designed to provide athletes with the training, recovery, and support needed to reach their far out marathon goals.

My goal, which admittedly is out of this world, is to reach to the Olympic Standard (or to run a sub-2:45) at my debut marathon this fall. This would qualify me for the "B" standard at the Olympic Trials 2020.

It's only crazy until you do it.

Each week so far has been full of firsts. My first time training with a group. My first time learning to use a watch. My first time to run with trained pacers.

But it's also been the first time I feel 100% willing and able to let the work speak for itself. With running, you either do it and you don't. The times don't lie.

I'm also working diligently on my nutrition, recovery, and making sure my mind is elevated. It's okay to be frustrated in the moment or tired after a hard day, but I'm finding how important it is to not sweat the small stuff. When I step foot on the track, I'm there to run; I'm not thinking about anything else.

Just 11 weeks until the race. I believe at this rate, I can do what I intend to do.
